Plant Pink Mulch Weed Mats™
A weed mat that promotes growth and reduces losses.
Plant Pink Mulch Weed Mats™ provide ideal conditions under the mat to promote beneficial microorganisms and worms, thus will promote healthier trees and increased growth rates. The Pink Mats also stabilise temperature fluctuations reducing the stress on new saplings.
Plant Pink Mulch Weed Mats™ are organic certified and also contain organic fertiliser. The pink mats will deliver sustained nutrient release including essential trace elements as the mat naturally biodegrades. Most importantly the mat suppresses weed growth around the young sapling to give it the best chance at survival.
Key Benefits
- Biodegradable – Will break down completely after 12 months without any harmful residue while adding organic matter to the soil.
- Water Conservation – Conserves soil moisture by reducing evaporation from the sun and wind. The mat will also shield the roots from temperature extremes to increase growth.
- Weed Control – Stops sunlight reaching the weeds and therefore inhibiting weed growth.
- Erosion Control – The mat prevents the soil drying out and becoming less permeable to water penetration. The mat holds the soil in the root zone where it is needed.
- Herbicide Reduction or Elimination – With weed growth inhibited you can eliminate or reduce herbicide applications.
- Strength and Life – University trials have shown the mat can last up to 12 months.
- Recycled Content – The mat is manufactured from waste paper so it is a sustainable and plant friendly option.

Why Pink?
Visible light can be split into a spectrum of colours. Green leaves absorb light from the red fraction to drive photosynthesis. Research has demonstrated that the colour pink reflects and focuses the red fraction, concentrating this photosynthetic energy to enhance plant growth. (Other colours are available on request)
